About
'Stranger' merges sound art, social documentary and minimalist contemporary music to create soundscapes and audio essays. I collage recordings of everyday life to create new worlds and realities from that material.
These recordings are collected from all walks of life. Interviews with chance encounters around the UK, recordings of streets, overheard candid conversations and field recordings. These materials are then used as vignettes within my compositions; sometimes as melodies and rhythms themselves.
My work synthesises a wide-range of fields including those of social documentary, musique concrète, street photography, genre painting, Dada, minimalist classical music, surveillance and audio description.
The album 'Stranger' was released to all streaming services on 22nd March 2024.
